Staying in Boston

Unfortunately, Boston isn't cheap... Because of this, we wanted our guests to get the most out of their trip to the historic town, so we decided to have our wedding downtown. We figured that this would be easier, and not much more expensive, as people would not need to rent a car... Boston is definitely a train oriented city... there are tons of one way streets and little to no parking (unless you want to fork out $20-$40 for a parking spot).

This being said, we highly suggest people stay in one of the downtown hotels... and DEFINITELY suggest not bringing a car. It also happens to be Northeastern's (the university) graduation weekend, so traffic will be compounded. To make matters worse, there is always the chance of a baseball game. GPS doesn't work wonderfully in Boston either due to the tall buildings and one way streets.

When reserving on a block by phone, mention you want the rates associated with the "Folts/Poandl Wedding Block". When booking online, use the group code listed.

We also list the T station/line(s) closest to each hotel.

Hilton - Back Bay
$189/night - 30 room block

40 Dalton Street
Boston, MA 02115-3123

Tel: 1-617-236-1100
Prudential Center
(Green Line - E)

Hynes Convention Center
(Green Line - B, C and D)

Smack dab in the heart of Boston, this will be the best way to experience Boston. This is where we will be holding the reception, as well as breakfast the morning after. We highly suggest you choose this hotel, but realize it might be outside some people's budgets.

The rooms in our block have 2 queen beds, allowing for 4 people to sleep comfortably, and we have made sure that there is no per-person charge for those looking to cram in a few extra people.

A 5 minute walk from the Hynes and Prudential T stops (Green Line). For those of you who insist on driving, parking will be free the night of the reception, however the attached parking cost $39 otherwise.

If booking online, use group code "PFW".

If you are having problems booking, please contact us, some people were having problems, but there are still rooms available. This rate should work for allll the nights you plan on staying, if they tell you otherwise, tell them they're wrong B-)

Much more expensive, but still a lodging option... Directly across the street from the Hilton, where its all going down. Please note that even when reserving under our block, they state they will charge an additional $40 per extra person. So not the greatest for people thinking of doubling up. Really nice for those who can afford it.

Midtown Hotel
$139 - 10 room block

220 Huntington Avenue
Boston, MA 02115

Tel: 1-617-262-8739
Prudential Center
(Green Line - E)

For the budget conscious, this is an older hotel that should suit your needs. Doesn't have all the amenities as some of the large nation-wide hotels, but if you're looking for a place to sleep, the Midtown is probably the best deal you'll find. Only a 5-6 minute walk to the Hilton, so you'll get the same advantage of location.

If booking online, use group code "FPWED".

Courtyard Marriott - Brookline/Coolidge Corner
$169/night - 10 room block

40 Webster Street
Brookline, MA 02446

Tel: 1-617-396-2016
Coolidge Corner
(Green Line - C)

This is a little cheaper, and only a 10-15 minute trolley (The "T") ride to the festivities. Lots of nearby resturaunts and stores, but you'll need take the T to get to the touristy activities in Boston.

The rooms in this block also have 2 queen beds, allowing for 4 people to sleep comfortably.

If booking online, use group code "Pfwpfwb".

Best Western Terrace Inn - Brighton

1650 Commonwealth Ave.
Boston, MA 02135

Tel: 1-617-566-6260
Washington St.
(Green Line - B)

For those insisting on driving, and those with a really tight budget, we suggest you stay here... park your car, and then get on the T. This is right down the street from our house and parking is free with rental. It would be a 20-25 minute train ride to get to touristy/historic Boston, but the rates are much more convenient. The only time we suggest you might want to use your car, is when driving to the reception downtown... that way if you want to stay out after the trains stop running, you can drive back. Of course, the smarter choice would be to grab a taxi.

Other Possibilities

Stay in Cape Cod

Stay somewhere in the cape, and then ferry your butt over to Boston for the reception... Definitely suggest a night in a downtown hotel as the ferries don't run all night.

Copley House

Mixed reviews about service, but location, location, location... and pretty cheap...
